Who this page is for

Who tends to call us

You are in Orlando or Central Florida and your hip has started dictating things: how you get out of the car, how far you walk, whether you can put on a sock without a strategy. Imaging may say osteoarthritis, labral tear or bursitis. A surgeon may have mentioned replacement “when it gets bad enough,” and you would like a serious look at what to do before then.

REVĪV is not a surgical practice and we do not take insurance. A hip that cannot bear weight, a suspected fracture, or sudden severe pain after a fall needs an emergency room or an orthopedic surgeon, not us.

You might recognise yourself here

  • Groin or outer-hip pain that worsens with walking or standing up.
  • You have started favouring one side without meaning to.
  • You have been told you have hip arthritis, a labral tear, or tendinopathy.
  • You want to know your options while you still have options.

What we are not

We are not an urgent-care service, we do not manage
emergencies, and we do not accept insurance. If what you need is a surgeon, a wound centre or an
emergency room, the most useful thing we can do is tell you that on the first call.

How the evaluation works

An evaluation first — not a program

Dr. David Cheesman, DO directs every plan. Hips get evaluated as a system: the joint itself plus the gluteal and adductor muscles that have been compensating for it. Both can be addressed, and which matters more is a clinical judgement made after examining you.

  1. An in-home physician evaluation. History, exam, a review of your imaging and your goals — in your own living room, not a waiting room.
  2. Comprehensive blood work. Ordered before any plan is finalized, because inflammation and metabolic health shape what is reasonable to attempt.
  3. A written plan, if one makes sense. It may include regenerative biologics, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) where appropriate. When a procedure is part of the plan, it is placed under ultrasound guidance when needed — never as an upcharge.
  4. In-home therapeutic devices. Equipment you keep and use between visits, chosen for your plan rather than sold as an add-on.
  5. A personalised anti-inflammatory nutrition plan and supplement guidance. The parts of recovery that happen without us in the room.
  6. Scheduled follow-up visits. Built into the plan at set intervals, not billed as separate appointments.
Candidacy

Who is and isn’t a candidate

Candidacy is decided individually by a physician after examining you — never from a form or a
phone call. Two lists are worth knowing before you spend an hour with us.

Reasons we would not proceed

  • An active infection in or near the area being considered.
  • An active malignancy near the treatment site.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • A clear surgical indication — if you need a surgeon, we will tell you so.

Timing issues we work around

  • A corticosteroid injection into the same area within the past 4 weeks — we wait it out.
  • Anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) taken within 5 days of a procedure — these are paused beforehand.
  • Blood thinners — held or adjusted only in coordination with your prescribing physician.
What to expect

The realistic timeline

These are the intervals we plan around and the schedule we hold ourselves to. They are not a
promise about your result.

  • Anti-inflammatories are paused for 5 days beforehand.
  • Weight-bearing is limited for roughly 48 hours afterward.
  • Physical therapy resumes at about 7–10 days, focused on range of motion.
  • Change, when it comes, is gradual — most often around weeks 3–6.
  • Functional reassessment at 3 months; check-ins at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months.
  • A second series is considered no earlier than 4–6 months, based on response.
Honest by design

What the evidence does and does not show

Here is what an honest conversation sounds like. The biologic therapies we use are investigational and may be provided on an off-label basis. They have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition, and nobody — including us — can tell you in advance that they will work for you.

Research on biologics for hip osteoarthritis is smaller than for the knee: a few trials of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) have reported symptom improvement comparable to hyaluronic acid over months, and others found no difference from control. Evidence for bursitis and labral tears is limited to small series.

The published research in this field is early. Much of it is laboratory and animal work, the human studies are mostly small, and some well-run trials have found no advantage over placebo. We are not going to quote you numbers from a study and imply they are your results.

What we will do is look at your imaging, your history and your goals, tell you plainly whether you look like a reasonable candidate, and tell you when you are not. Some people leave our evaluation with a recommendation to see a surgeon instead. That is a good outcome.

What it costs, before you ask

Single-joint care starts at $2,997 for a 1 mL treatment — some patients need only 1 mL. A complete care plan is quoted only after a physician evaluation, because what belongs in it depends on your imaging, your history and how many areas are involved — not on a menu. Patient financing is available for those who qualify.

Your first 15-minute phone call is free. The in-home physician consultation is $199, and that $199 is credited toward your care plan if you decide to move forward.

Service area

Where we come to you

REVĪV sees patients across Central Florida, from Orange City and Daytona Beach to Melbourne Beach, including all of metro Orlando, Celebration and Lakeland. Other Florida cities depend on physician availability. There is no clinic or office to visit: the clinician comes to your home. See in-home care in Orlando.

Common questions

Hip — questions we get asked

Is this an alternative to hip replacement?

For mild-to-moderate arthritis it can be a reasonable step to try first. For advanced arthritis, replacement is often the right answer and we will say so after examining you.

My pain is on the outside of the hip. Is that arthritis?

Often it is bursitis or a tendon problem rather than the joint itself, which changes the plan. The exam sorts that out.

Do you come to my home in Orlando?

Yes. REVĪV is a mobile practice: your evaluation and your care happen in your home. There is no clinic or office to visit.

I have had a cortisone shot in the hip. Does that matter?

For timing, yes. We wait at least four weeks after a corticosteroid injection in the same hip before a biologic procedure.

What does the first visit cost?

The first step is a free 15-minute phone call. If an in-home visit makes sense, the physician-directed consultation is $199 and is credited toward your care plan if you enroll.

Will insurance cover it?

No. REVĪV programs are elective and self-pay. We provide itemized receipts, and financing is available to patients who qualify.

Do I need recent imaging?

It helps. A hip X-ray or MRI from the last two years tells us how much of the joint space remains, which matters for candidacy.

Who will actually see me?

A member of our clinical team under the direction of Dr. David Cheesman, DO. You will know the name of the clinician coming to your door before the visit.

More questions — safety, what these preparations are, what happens if you react — are answered on our FAQ page.
