Who this page is for

Who tends to call us

You live in Orlando or somewhere in Central Florida and your knee has been through the standard sequence: rest, anti-inflammatories, maybe physical therapy, one or two cortisone shots that worked for a while and then did not. Stairs are a calculation. Someone has said osteoarthritis, someone else has said replacement, and you want a serious look at what sits between the two.

You might recognise yourself here

  • Your knee hurts on stairs, getting out of a chair, or after you have been still.
  • Cortisone helped, then helped less, then stopped helping for long.
  • You have been told to lose weight, wait, and come back when it is bad enough for surgery.
  • You are active and you are not ready to plan your life around one joint.

What we are not

We are not an urgent-care service, we do not manage
emergencies, and we do not accept insurance. If what you need is a surgeon, a wound centre or an
emergency room, the most useful thing we can do is tell you that on the first call.

How the evaluation works

An evaluation first — not a program

Dr. David Cheesman, DO directs every plan. For knees we review any X-ray or MRI you already have. If your imaging is old or you have never had any, your physician will tell you what is worth getting and why — we would rather look first than guess.

  1. An in-home physician evaluation. History, exam, a review of your imaging and your goals — in your own living room, not a waiting room.
  2. Comprehensive blood work. Ordered before any plan is finalized, because inflammation and metabolic health shape what is reasonable to attempt.
  3. A written plan, if one makes sense. It may include regenerative biologics, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) where appropriate. When a procedure is part of the plan, it is placed under ultrasound guidance when needed — never as an upcharge.
  4. In-home therapeutic devices. Equipment you keep and use between visits, chosen for your plan rather than sold as an add-on.
  5. A personalised anti-inflammatory nutrition plan and supplement guidance. The parts of recovery that happen without us in the room.
  6. Scheduled follow-up visits. Built into the plan at set intervals, not billed as separate appointments.
Candidacy

Who is and isn’t a candidate

Candidacy is decided individually by a physician after examining you — never from a form or a
phone call. Two lists are worth knowing before you spend an hour with us.

Reasons we would not proceed

  • An active infection in or near the area being considered.
  • An active malignancy near the treatment site.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • A clear surgical indication — if you need a surgeon, we will tell you so.

Timing issues we work around

  • A corticosteroid injection into the same area within the past 4 weeks — we wait it out.
  • Anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) taken within 5 days of a procedure — these are paused beforehand.
  • Blood thinners — held or adjusted only in coordination with your prescribing physician.
What to expect

The realistic timeline

These are the intervals we plan around and the schedule we hold ourselves to. They are not a
promise about your result.

  • Any anti-inflammatories are paused for 5 days beforehand.
  • Weight-bearing is limited for roughly 48 hours afterward.
  • Physical therapy or range-of-motion work resumes at about 7–10 days.
  • When change occurs, it is usually gradual — most often noticed somewhere around weeks 3–6 rather than in the first few days.
  • A full functional reassessment happens at 3 months, with check-ins at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months.
  • Whether a second series makes sense is a decision made 4–6 months out, based on how you actually responded.
Honest by design

What the evidence does and does not show

Here is what an honest conversation sounds like. The biologic therapies we use are investigational and may be provided on an off-label basis. They have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or condition, and nobody — including us — can tell you in advance that they will work for you.

For knee osteoarthritis, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has the most published human research of any biologic, with several trials reporting symptom improvement over months in mild-to-moderate disease and others finding no advantage over hyaluronic acid or placebo. Research on other biologics is earlier and smaller.

The published research in this field is early. Much of it is laboratory and animal work, the human studies are mostly small, and some well-run trials have found no advantage over placebo. We are not going to quote you numbers from a study and imply they are your results.

What we will do is look at your imaging, your history and your goals, tell you plainly whether you look like a reasonable candidate, and tell you when you are not. Some people leave our evaluation with a recommendation to see a surgeon instead. That is a good outcome.

What it costs, before you ask

Single-joint care starts at $2,997 for a 1 mL treatment — some patients need only 1 mL. A complete care plan is quoted only after a physician evaluation, because what belongs in it depends on your imaging, your history and how many areas are involved — not on a menu. Patient financing is available for those who qualify.

Your first 15-minute phone call is free. The in-home physician consultation is $199, and that $199 is credited toward your care plan if you decide to move forward.

Common questions

Knee — questions we get asked

Is this an alternative to knee replacement?

It is not a replacement for surgery, and we will not describe it that way. For some people it is a reasonable step to try before surgery; for others surgery is the right answer, and we will say so. A physician makes that call after examining your knee, not before.

What is a non-surgical knee pain treatment, exactly?

An evaluation, blood work, and a written plan that may combine regenerative biologics such as PRP, in-home therapeutic devices, nutrition and supplements, with follow-up visits, all delivered without an operation.

Do you come to my home in Orlando?

Yes. REVĪV is a mobile practice: your evaluation and your care happen in your home. There is no clinic or office to visit.

I have had cortisone shots. Does that matter?

It matters for timing. We wait at least four weeks after a corticosteroid injection in the same knee before a biologic procedure.

What does the first visit cost?

The first step is a free 15-minute phone call. If an in-home visit makes sense, the physician-directed consultation is $199 and is credited toward your care plan if you enroll.

Will insurance cover it?

No. REVĪV programs are elective and self-pay. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, we provide itemized receipts, and financing is available to patients who qualify.

Do I need a referral or recent imaging?

No referral. Imaging helps: bring any X-ray or MRI report from the last two years if you have one.

Who will actually see me?

A member of our clinical team under the direction of Dr. David Cheesman, DO. You will know the name of the clinician coming to your door before the visit.

More questions — safety, what these preparations are, what happens if you react — are answered on our FAQ page.
